Based on more than 10 years of experience, I can say that I have brought many happy moments to many bikers. The upward-driving version has proven to be very successful. With minor modifications (smaller unit, more modern servo, nicer LED appearance), my customers who -sometimes return- often still buy the ORIGINAL version.
For technical and a few other reasons, I also designed an under-driving version, which can be seen here in the pictures. I recommend these for racing bikes with a long tail.
The interesting thing about the under-driving version is that thanks to a Southern European biker friend of mine, who very ingeniously showed me, just look... With fine manual dexterity, you can attach the plate to the unit with the tiny screws so that if I want it to be an up-driving, if you want it to be an under-driving. :) So it looks like the under-driving model has also proven to be a universal flipper... (The original under-driving, however, closes the unit a little better from the bottom in normal condition... it is much more discreet in terms of visibility).

The unit is made of 1.5mm thick stainless steel in a professional laser cutting workshop and CNC bending machine.
The powder coating is a structured matte-gloss black.
The 12V LED lighting is covered by opal plexiglass, which comes with a small protective surface that must be gently peeled off the surface after installation.
